The size of this cloth is 5" ( 12.5 CM ) Wide and 50" ( 100 CM ) long. This is an authentic high quality hand woven KENTE that can be used as a piece of African artefact or to be used as a scarf / stole or as an ideal gift !!. Kente is an ASHANTI ( ASANTE ) ( Ghana , Kumasi , West Africa ) Ceremonial cloth that is hand woven on a horizontal treadle loom. In the present days is still used as a cloth in Ghana but is also used by collectors of fine weaved cloths and African artifacts as Wall hanging or sofa covering !!!!!! PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS CLOTH IS NOT SUITABLE AS FLOOR RUG FOR WALKING ON. THIS IS A CLOTH THAT WAS WEAVED FOR WEARING !!!! It takes several weeks for a weaver to complete a full size cloth like this !!! The stripes are sewn together into larger pieces of cloths. Kente is more than just a cloth but is a visual representation of history, ethics , oral literature , philosophy , moral values and religious beliefs. The Kente cloths history goes back to the 17th Century.
